Why You'll Love It Here Join a compassionate team committed to high-quality veterinary medicine Work in a culture built around teamwork, appreciation, and mutual respect Enjoy consistent scheduling that supports a healthy work-life balance Use your veterinary knowledge and hands‑on skills every day Work alongside professionals who are willing to ask for help and equally willing to give it Continue learning through hands‑on experience and professional development Share your own knowledge, skills, and experiences with your teammates Build meaningful relationships with clients and their pets Grow professionally while helping others grow alongside you Work in an environment where positivity and empathy are part of the culture Take ownership of your responsibilities and make a meaningful contribution to patient care Be part of a team where genuinely appreciating one another is more than a motivational poster on the wall What You'll Do Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and medical procedures Safely and compassionately handle and restrain patients Obtain patient histories and vital signs Prepare patients and exam rooms for appointments Assist with diagnostic testing and laboratory procedures Collect blood and other diagnostic samples as appropriate to your experience Assist with venipuncture and IV catheter placement as appropriate to your skills and role Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed Prepare patients, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures Assist with anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery as appropriate to your experience Provide attentive nursing care to hospitalized and outpatient patients Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients Educate clients about medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and follow‑up recommendations Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and hospital workspaces clean, organized, and well stocked Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and other hospital team members Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through on tasks Support teammates and help maintain an efficient hospital workflow Contribute to a positive experience for every patient and client What You'll Bring Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is preferred Hands‑on experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinical environment Strong animal handling and restraint skills A passion for pets and high‑quality veterinary care Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Compassion and empathy for patients, clients, coworkers, and yourself Strong attention to detail and organizational skills The ability to multitask and remain productive in a busy veterinary environment A positive, dependable, and supportive approach to teamwork The confidence to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities A willingness to ask for help when needed and offer help to others A desire to continue learning and developing professionally A willingness to share your knowledge and experience with teammatesA commitment to supporting the professional growth of others The ability to collaborate effectively and treat teammates with mutual respect Availability to work weekday shifts and participate in the required rotating Saturday schedule The Extras You'll Actually Feel At Animal House Veterinary Hospital, we believe remarkable results come from people working together.
