A leading international fresh produce organization seeks an Account Manager with a solid background in fresh produce sales who is looking to grow in their career with a prominent company and a known, respected brand.

Seek experience working on a daily market basis, developing new business, increasing share with customers, working closely with management and team members, and working with the pace and changes of the fresh produce industry.

Position to be based in the Salinas Valley region.

The Account Manager is responsible for managing, developing, and growing strategic wholesale and retail accounts. As a preferred candidate you'll drive revenue growth, develop strong customer partnerships, and collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality product to customers. The position will focus on achieving customer specific goals and company strategic goals.

• Establish and maintain professional relationships with existing accounts and grow these accounts in accordance with company sales plan.
• Conduct sales calls, schedule promotional volumes and prices, monitor sales to identify new and organic growth opportunities in accordance with the company sales plan.
• Propose customer visit schedule with meeting purpose and agendas to advance relationship. 
• Prepare and propose annual sales plan/budget by account by product for review with Sales Directors.
  
• Propose and execute retail digital activations to penetrate e-commerce retail promotions.
  
• Present and effectively execute company's marketing initiatives to customers.
  
• Provide no less than quarterly evaluations of customer to the sales leadership team with recommendations to increase growth.
  
• Accountable for accurate order entry into company system and monitor status of orders.
  
• Expected to be aware of the competitive environment and report to manager and team on a real time basis to achieve market leadership.
  
• Able to respond to unexpected supply changes by formulating plans to ensure client's needs are met.
  
• Expected to participate in department meetings and video conference calls.
  
• Partner with Finance to assure prompt collection of assigned account receivables.
  
• Provides backup as needed to other Account Managers/Product Managers during their absence.
  
• Foster World Class Service in customer relationships and value-added market leadership
  

Experience Sought:

• Bachelor Degree or relevant experience with 5 years minimum produce industry.
  
• Prior berry sales experience a plus.
  
• Ability to act independently and make competent decisions without supervision.
  
• Must have excellent computer skills, with knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, Itrade, Procurant and SAP helpful
  
• Individual must be detail oriented and an effective communicator to others
  
• Team player striving for the benefit of the team
  
• Available after hours and weekends as needed

The base salary the company may reasonably expect to pay for this Exempt Position is: $125,000 to $175,000. The actual salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The base salary range does not include other benefits and potential bonus for the position.
