Business Analyst

The Business Analyst partners with business, product, and technology teams to translate needs into clear, actionable work that drives delivery outcomes. This role focuses on creating clarity across initiatives by defining requirements, shaping backlog items, and ensuring work is aligned to business objectives and priorities. The analyst operates across multiple workstreams, helping maintain a well-defined, delivery-ready backlog while supporting visibility into progress, risks, and dependencies. The role blends structured analysis, stakeholder engagement, and basic product thinking to ensure solutions deliver measurable value.

Core Responsibilities Requirements & Backlog Development

Translate business needs, discussions, and documentation into clear, testable backlog items Define acceptance criteria and ensure work meets Definition of Ready expectations Clarify scope, assumptions, dependencies, and success criteria Maintain traceability between requirements, backlog items, and delivered outcomes

Delivery Alignment & Execution Support

Partner with product, engineering, and QA to ensure shared understanding of requirements Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and ongoing prioritization discussions Track progress across workstreams and highlight risks, gaps, or blockers early Ensure decisions and changes are documented and reflected in backlog items

Product & Value Orientation

Align requirements to business goals, outcomes, and user value Support prioritization by identifying impact, risk, and dependencies Contribute to defining simple success measures for delivered work Help ensure incremental delivery aligns to broader objectives

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to validate needs and solutions Translate technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language Provide clear, concise updates on progress, risks, and decisions Support development of materials for leadership updates when needed

Documentation & Process Support

Create and maintain functional documentation, process flows, and supporting materials Ensure consistency and completeness of backlog and documentation practices Identify opportunities to improve clarity, workflows, and delivery processes

Basic Qualifications

Experience in Business Analysis, delivery, or related role (range varies by level) Strong ability to translate ambiguous input into structured requirements Familiarity with Agile practices and backlog management Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across teams

Additional / Preferred Skills

Experience working with tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or similar Exposure to enterprise technology, platforms, or data-driven environments Experience supporting infrastructure or platform-related initiatives Familiarity with reporting, dashboards, or data interpretation Comfort engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
