Step into a rewarding role supporting student growth and success as a Special Education Paraprofessional in a vibrant school environment. This contract opportunity, beginning August 13, 2026 and running through May 27, 2027, offers the chance to make a real difference for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. You’ll work either 1:1 or provide classroom support, collaborating with dedicated educators to help students with diverse learning needs thrive.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Genuine patience, empathy, and understanding when assisting students with various disabilities and learning challenges
- Strong oral and written communication abilities for effective teamwork with staff and families
- Experience implementing behavior support plans and positive intervention strategies
- Background in delivering instructional assistance under certified guidance and adjusting materials to fit student requirements
- Versatility and creativity in adapting to classroom changes and unique student needs
- Proven record of maintaining strict confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills, supporting data-driven monitoring of student progress
- Familiarity with following IEPs and a commitment to helping students meet their academic, behavioral, and social goals
Responsibilities:
- Support students 1:1 or in classroom settings, using teacher directives
- Assist in implementing IEP goals and behavior intervention plans
- Foster an inclusive, supportive environment for learners of all abilities
- Adapt lessons and materials as needed to ensure accessibility
- Monitor and document student participation and progress
- Communicate observations effectively to teachers and specialists
