A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead patient engagement and payment collection processes. This role is ideal for a strategic leader who excels at optimizing collections, managing teams, and driving process improvements in a healthcare setting. About the Role Operations Manager – Patient Engagement (Healthcare Collections) Location: Charlotte, NC – Hybrid (2 days in office per week) Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt Responsibilities Oversee and enhance up-front patient payment collection strategies, focusing on efficiency and compliance. Train and mentor staff on best practices for collections. Manage relationships with external collection agencies and monitor their performance. Develop, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to patient collections. Prepare and present regular reports on collection performance to senior leadership. Lead a team of collection specialists, conducting performance reviews and fostering a positive work environment. Monitor patient communication platforms (text, phone, email, statements) and ensure clear, compassionate financial communications. Ensure all collection activities comply with current laws, regulations, and internal policies. Collaborate with other departments to streamline billing and collection processes. Address and resolve patient billing inquiries and disputes professionally. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Minimum of five years’ experience in medical billing and patient collections, with at least three years in a supervisory or leadership capacity. Strong knowledge of healthcare billing software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to analyze data, manage KPIs, and implement corrective action plans. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally, with occasional overnight or air travel for conferences. Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead a team, and drive results in a dynamic environment. Required Skills Strong knowledge of healthcare billing software. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Skills Experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
