Job Summary:

The Bilingual Revenue Cycle and Membership Specialist (BRCMS) plays a critical role in maximizing revenue and supporting the Vida Plus program, the internal healthcare membership program that provides uninsured and underinsured patients with affordable access to our healthcare services. The BRCMS will handle patient collections, insurance claims, payment posting, and accounts receivable follow-up. The role will also oversee sales, retention, education and communication of the Vida Plus program. This position is responsible for improving cash flow and reducing aging accounts receivable, while ensuring compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations. The BRCMS will help to remove the economic barriers the underprivileged population faces when trying to treat their acute or chronic diseases.

What You'll Do

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Vida Plus membership program, including membership enrollment, billing, payments, claims, financial records, and account updates.
• Promote and expand the Vida Plus program throughout the Memphis and Mid-South communities through business partnerships, community events, outreach, and other sales and marketing channels.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase Vida Plus membership, program adoption, and member satisfaction.
• Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective Vida Plus clients, businesses, and community partners, including negotiating contracts as appropriate.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of Vida Plus services, membership options, and benefits and effectively communicate this information to prospective and current members.
• Serve as a primary resource for Vida Plus members by responding to questions and concerns, resolving issues, and helping members understand and utilize their membership benefits.
• Maintain accurate member financial records, process membership payments, monitor accounts, and follow established collection procedures to prevent lapses in coverage and minimize billing discrepancies.
• Monitor and follow up on Vida Plus and medical claims, including unpaid, denied, rejected, or underpaid claims, and submit corrected claims, reconsiderations, or appeals as needed.
• Review insurance eligibility and benefits and communicate with patients, responsible parties, and insurance carriers to resolve outstanding balances and claims.
• Post and reconcile patient and insurance payments, update the EMR, and make necessary account adjustments to ensure accurate financial records.
• Collaborate with internal departments to communicate membership and billing updates and ensure patient and account information remains accurate.
• Assist with financial reporting, data entry, account reconciliation, and other revenue cycle projects as needed.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of all Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required ; associates degree or equivalent technical training preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of medical billing, collections, or revenue cycle experience
• Bilingual in (Spanish / English) and proficiency in reading, writing and speaking in both languages is required
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment and work as an effective team member when needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, HMO/PPO products, and managed care reimbursement.
• Experience with medical claims processing, payment posting, insurance follow-up, and patient collections.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding concepts.
• Strong understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA).
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Practice Management systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change.
• Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
• Must have current active driver’s license and be able to drive to different locations when needed.

• Ability to work in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
