Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day or Night (3x12-Hour) Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 Years RN experience required License: Current RN license required Certifications: BCLS Must-Have: - Epic experience required - Previous travel experience preferred - Acute care experience must be current Description: The role involves providing care in a medical surgical oncology setting. The nurse will work with patients receiving chemotherapy and requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. Responsibilities include symptom management related to disease treatment, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety. The nursing staff will utilize equipment such as telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, and various infusion pumps. Key skills needed include access and management of ports, administration of blood products, and central line care. The position requires interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of IVs and chest tubes. Weekly scheduling may include a combination of day, night, and weekend shifts based on departmental needs. The focus is on providing high-quality and compassionate care for adult and geriatric patients with various oncological conditions.
