Lovejoy Independent School District Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)Job Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Exemption Status/Test: Exempt/ProfessionalReports to: Executive Director of Special Education Date Revised: November 2023 and Academic Support Dept./School: Special Education - Related Services Pay Grade: SS 4 Assigned Campus(es)Primary Purpose: Provide behavior analysis services, create behavior management plans, and provide training to district staff and parents/guardians in appropriate behavior intervention and classroom management techniques.QualificationsEducation/Certification: Master's degree in education or psychology Board Certified Behavior Analysis (BCBA) CertificationSpecial Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal setting and implementation Knowledge of behavior and social skill intervention techniques and methodology Understanding of ABA behavioral principles as they apply to developing individualized education and behavior plans Excellent public relations, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to diffuse and manage stressful situations Demonstrates competence in developing data collection systems Ability to present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to students, parents, and district staffExperience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a BCBA preferred Minimum five years experience as a special education teacher preferredMajor Responsibilities and DutiesInstructional and Program Management 1. Collaborate with teachers to design and develop behavioral intervention plans (BIP) and provide support to instructional staff in implementing BIPs and classroom management strategies. 2. Monitor the effectiveness of behavior intervention plans and recommend changes as needed. 3. Conduct functional behavioral assessment (FBA) based on observation of students in school, home, and community environments. Work with school staff and parents in teaching socially acceptable behaviors to students based on individual needs.4. Participate in admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee meetings. Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and other staff members to ensure success in meeting individual educational plan (IEP) goals.5. Manage student behavior and administer discipline including intervening in crisis situations and physically restraining students as necessary according to IEP.6. Create student materials needed for behavior support.7. Facilitate team consultation meetings with classroom teachers, related service providers, administrators, and paraprofessionals.8. Provide summer support and transition assistance for identified students.9. Directly observe the work of the RBT(s).10. Review RBT(s) documentation and data collection and provide feedback as needed.Training and Staff Development 11. Identify staff development needs, develop and present training, and coach campus personnel to continually develop and enhance behavioral assessment and intervention skills. 12. Provide behavior management training for parents as needed.Administration 13. Consult with district and outside resources regarding education, social, medical, and personal needs of students. 14. Complete paperwork required by the District for billing services eligible under the Student Health and Related Services (SHARS) Program or Medicaid Administrative Claims (MAC) Program. 15. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.Other 16. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. 17. Maintain confidentiality and comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education Rule, and Local Board Policy. 18. Demonstrate superior customer service with district staff, students, and community stakeholders. 19. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. 20.
