SAT/ACT English Tutor

No parent conferences. Huntington Learning Center of Zionsville is hiring a part-time SAT/ACT English Tutor for in-person instruction. This role is best for an educator who wants meaningful student work without the demands of a full classroom. We provide the students, curriculum, materials, and training. You bring strong reading and writing instruction, reliability, and care for student progress. Students depend on consistency, so this is not an occasional fill-in role. We are looking for tutors who can commit to the same recurring weekly shifts for at least one semester or four months. Six months, the full school year, or ongoing availability is especially helpful. Predictable part-time schedule. Meaningful one-on-one and small-group work with local students. What You’ll Teach SAT/ACT English and Reading. Grammar, usage, punctuation, and sentence structure. Reading comprehension and evidence-based reasoning. Writing skills and test-taking strategies. One-on-one and small-group instruction using Huntington-provided curriculum. Schedule Fit We Need In person at our Zionsville center. Two recurring weekly shifts preferred, typically totaling 8–12 hours per week. Same weekly schedule for at least one semester or four months. Planned absences can be accommodated with advance notice. School-year Tutoring Blocks Monday–Thursday: 4:00–8:00 PM. Saturday: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM. Summer Tutoring Blocks Monday–Thursday: 12:00–6:00 PM. Saturday: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM. Requirements Bachelor’s degree required. Strong reading, writing, grammar, and verbal reasoning skills. Able to explain English and verbal concepts clearly to high-school students. Able to work in person at Huntington Learning Center of Zionsville. Able to commit to recurring weekly shifts for at least one semester or four months. Reliable, professional, and comfortable working with students one-on-one or in small groups. Preferred Qualifications English/language arts teaching or tutoring experience. SAT/ACT English, Reading, or Writing instruction experience. Teaching license, substitute teaching experience, retired teacher background, or other classroom experience. Availability for six months, the full school year, or ongoing.
