Position Overview

Mountain Top Cardiology Consultants is actively seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team in Syracuse, New York. This full-time position involves working within our outpatient practice, specifically within the Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC). The selected candidate will benefit from the mentorship and oversight of our Chief Nurse Practitioner as well as collaborate closely with our Medical Director in the Division of Cardiology, thus playing a vital role in enhancing patient care.

Work Environment

The successful Nurse Practitioner will work on-site at our Assisted Living Facility, where they will engage with a diverse patient population. Our facility emphasizes hands-on, high-quality care in a supportive atmosphere, fostering professional relationships among multidisciplinary team members. With a designated Monday to Friday schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM, this role is designed to promote work-life balance, as there are no required night or weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of Cardiologists and healthcare professionals to manage and optimize patient care.
• Conduct comprehensive history-taking and physical examinations, allowing for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning.
• Prescribe medications and treatment plans for conditions such as hypertension and hyperlipidemia.
• Provide specialized outpatient Electrophysiology services for patients with arrhythmias and abnormal ECG findings.
• Monitor and manage acute cardiovascular conditions, including Coronary Artery Disease, Congestive Heart Failure, and Peripheral Artery Disease.
• Administer stress testing as required, working closely with cardiologists to evaluate patient results.
• Offer education and support to patients and their families regarding disease management and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Facilitate referrals to other specialists within our practice when necessary, ensuring seamless patient care.
• Engage in continuous professional development through involvement in interdisciplinary team meetings and patient review discussions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Nurse Practitioner will primarily work with adults in an outpatient setting, addressing a wide range of cardiac conditions. This position requires a strong ability to communicate effectively with patients of varying backgrounds, comprehensively explaining complex medical concepts in a manner that is understandable and supportive. Your approach to patient care will not only improve individual health outcomes but also contribute to patient satisfaction ratings within our practice.

Qualifications

• Proof of completion from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a focus on Adult/Gerontology or a related field.
• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing is required.
• Current NP license in New York State.
• Certification from a recognized national accrediting body.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Preferred Experience

While we are open to both experienced Nurse Practitioners and recent graduates, candidates with prior experience in cardiology—whether in outpatient or inpatient settings—will receive preferential consideration. Familiarity with advanced cardiac care procedures, such as stress testing and electrophysiological studies, is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role ranges from USD 120,000 to 160,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
