Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant at our state-of-the-art Surgical Center, you will operate in an onsite facility that promotes the highest standards of healthcare delivery. The Surgical Center is equipped with advanced diagnostic technology and treatment modalities to help you effectively manage and alleviate patient pain. Your workweek will be Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a balanced professional experience while you make impactful contributions to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments including patient interviews and physical examinations to formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Administer preventative health care services, including wellness visits, screenings, and immunizations, alongside acute care management for complex conditions.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to monitor health progress and adapt treatment protocols as needed.
• Document all encounters and interventions in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and enhancing the continuity of care.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with fellow healthcare professionals—including physicians, specialists, and nursing staff—to optimize patient outcomes.
• Offer patient education regarding pain management strategies, lifestyle modifications, and health maintenance to foster self-management and well-being.
• Manage referrals for specialist consultations when necessary, coordinating care transitions effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily serves adults and children who are experiencing both acute and chronic pain conditions stemming from injury, illness, or post-surgical recovery. You will support patients by not only addressing their immediate medical needs but also by educating them on preventive measures and lifestyle changes that can improve their overall health and quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies is mandatory.
• Current, active licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
• Strong proficiency in multitasking and managing a diverse patient caseload effectively.
• Exceptional communication skills to engage with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service and maintaining a professional demeanor.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in pain management, orthopedics, or rehabilitation services is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health records systems and or pain management protocols.
