HR Specialist
Join our team as an HR Specialist. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Specialist to support our dynamic law firm. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting our employees and enhancing the overall employee experience while working alongside a fractional HR leadership model. This position is ideal for an HR professional early in their career who is eager to build hands-on experience across multiple HR disciplines in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
In this role, you'll support core HR functions including:
- Managing employee benefits and serving as a key resource for employee questions
- Supporting recruitment efforts, including posting roles and coordinating interviews
- Leading onboarding and offboarding processes
- Assisting with employee relations matters and maintaining confidentiality
- Supporting employee engagement and culture initiatives
- Maintaining HR systems and leveraging technology (including AI tools) to improve efficiency
- Partnering closely with an experienced fractional HR leader to execute HR strategies
What we're looking for:
- 1–3 years of HR experience
- Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred
- Law firm or professional services experience preferred
- Experience with HR systems (HRIS) and interest in HR technology/AI tools
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- High level of discretion and professionalism

Compensation & benefits: Salary range The expected salary range for this position starts at $65,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity, in alignment with Illinois pay transparency requirements. Benefits The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with employer contribution, paid time off, paid holidays, and professional development opportunities.
