Hybrid 3 days per week in Richmond, VA or McLean, VA

Our client is seeking a copywriter to join the Commercial Bank "Keep Me Informed" team to develop external, client-facing servicing communications. The role focuses on translating complex topics about money movement and product changes into clear, conversational messages across emails, letters, FAQs, call scripts, user guides, and system announcements. The team values strong grammar, brand voice alignment, and the ability to manage projects in a fast-paced environment.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis. For our W2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $35.00 to $44.00/hr. W2

Responsibilities:

• Consult on project initiatives and recommend effective communication types for each situation.
• Apply correct grammar and align with enterprise brand standards and brand voice in all communications.
• Respond to urgent requests and produce emergency communications with same-day turnaround when needed.
• Translate technical language into clear, consistent, and actionable client messages.
• Contribute to process improvement projects for communication workflows.
• Collaborate with partners to align client and associate communications.
• Coordinate with email, letter teams, and vendors to meet review and deployment timelines.
• Incorporate feedback from legal, compliance, risk, and related partners.
• Manage projects in a fast-paced environment and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Champion clear, consistent messaging across Commercial Bank.

Experience Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in Communications, Public Relations, Technical Writing, or copywriting for external audiences.
• Proven ability to write conversational copy while maintaining accuracy and clarity.
• Strong grammar and editing skills with the ability to check and refine own work.
• Experience translating complex or technical topics for non-technical audiences.
• Portfolio of relevant work is preferred.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or Agile tools is preferred.

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification required.
• Bachelor's degree or military experience preferred.

The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
