Medical Surgical Nurse

Provides comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in a medical-surgical setting. Assesses patient needs, implements appropriate interventions, and collaborates with the healthcare team to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and reassess patients to develop and modify individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and treatments according to protocols and physician orders.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient data, interventions, and responses accurately and promptly.
• Coordinate with colleagues to ensure seamless continuity of care and effective handoffs.
• Identify and report potential safety risks and medical errors proactively.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active licensure as a registered nurse in the state.
• Possess at least 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Have current BLS certification; ACLS certification required within 60 days of hire.
• Demonstrate professional behaviors including empathy, tact, and diplomacy.
• Prefer candidates with telemetry and pediatrics experience.
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately.
