Lead Cook / Sous Chef — Daytime Café & Catering

Luna La Mer is looking for a talented, motivated Chef / Lead Cook to join our growing daytime café and catering kitchen in Brooklyn.

We are a busy neighborhood café with an open kitchen, serving a seasonal menu of hot and cold dishes, made-to-order focaccia sandwiches, baked goods and rotating specials. We also have a growing catering and events business, giving our kitchen team the opportunity to work on a wide variety of food and events beyond our daily café menu.

We're looking for someone who genuinely loves to cook, thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and takes pride in putting out consistently beautiful, high-quality food. This is a great opportunity for a strong cook who wants a daytime kitchen schedule, competitive compensation and the opportunity to take on more responsibility and grow with the business.

Approximately 75% of our menu is gluten-free, so allergen awareness is extremely important to us. Experience working with food allergies, dietary restrictions and cross-contamination protocols is strongly preferred.

Our kitchen is also completely open to the café, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable working in a guest-facing environment and contributing to the warm, welcoming atmosphere of Luna.

• Professional kitchen experience in a fast-paced environment

• Early morning and weekend availability required

• Strong cooking, knife and prep skills

• Excellent attention to detail and consistency

• Strong communication skills

• Reliable, punctual and comfortable working as part of a close-knit team
