Whether we’re refreshing a retailer’s brand, planning a new urban district or designing a super tall building, we strive to make the everyday places people occupy more inspiring, more resilient and more impactful.Your RoleAs a Project Manager (Design Manager) in our Tampa location, you will own every phase of Office Development; workplaces for Technology, Financial Services, and Professional Services projects with overall accountability for client satisfaction, quality control and financial performance. You will deploy resources to ensure that the work process flows smoothly and act as the primary liaison between the team and client. This is a great opportunity to join a highly creative, collaborative team while working on trendsetting architectural projects across a variety of industries.What You Will DoManage and lead one or more client projects and accounts through the leadership of project teams; Provide leadership to client and team by communicating project objectives, contract scope, terms, and schedule main point of contact for client, consultants and project teamManage project schedules, budgets, staffing, and project set-up with clients, sub-contractors, vendors and contractorsPrepare project proposals and negotiate contracts and fees; bid projects to multiple general contractorsTrack and manage financial performance of project for success (e.g., work plan, schedule, fees, revenue, change orders, billings and collections)Manage project lifecycle; estimating, bidding, project kick-off, weekly coordination, punch list, turnover, opening, and project close-outYour QualificationsA Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design, at minimum, from an accredited university10+ years of experience in architecture and/or interior design, preferably in project-based environments3+ years of project management experience on a range of architecture projects3-5+ years of recent comprehensive experience focused on commercial workplace interiorsProfessional license or certification preferredLEED accreditation preferredExperience negotiating project scope, fees, managing project financial performance, and ensuring fiscal responsibility for projectsExperience with the full project lifecycle, through post-occupancyKnowledge of building codes, standards and building structuresBasic technical understanding of architectural design, interior and furniture designExperience with project management software such as Procore or Newforma is a plusWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and RevitAt Gensler a Project Manager will have the job title of Design Manager and operate in this capacity for alignment with internal programs, doing business with clients and compliance with industry and government regulations.
