Ability to select connectors and splice and install conductors/liliProficient at cutting, bending and installing pipe/liliUse the National Electrical Code to locate information that applies to electrical installations/liliUnderstand, maintain, and troubleshoot AC and DC motors and drives/liliUse electrical test equipment to measure current voltage and resistance/liliUnderstand troubleshooting process for basic electrical equipment and electrical systems/liliBasic troubleshoot PLC, drives, HMI/liliTrained to work on energized electrical circuits/liliTrained in electrical arc flash protection code requirements and follow standards per NFPA 70E/li/ulh3Mechanical Skills:/h3ulliInspect gears and gear units for lubrication problems and bearing failure/liliUnderstand types and function of gears, the components and characteristics of gearbox setups, problems with gears and gear boxes, and gearbox overhaul./liliUnderstand types of shaft misalignment, conditions affecting alignment, measurements and measuring tools for realignment, and methods used for shaft alignment including reverse dial, laser and rim and face/liliUnderstand types of gaskets and packing, packing glands, and installation of gaskets and packing/liliUnderstand basic functions of production CNC machining equipment/liliUse necessary hand and power tools to take appropriate action to replace components, make adjustments and recalibrate machinery to resolve issues and restore equipment to operating condition/liliCheck and adjust end play, backlash, shaft runout and tooth contact in gearboxes/liliDisassemble and reassemble gearboxes/liliUnderstand centrifugal and reciprocating compressors/liliUnderstand the parts, function, maintenance and troubleshooting of typical motors/liliRemove mechanical seals from pumps, examine damaged mechanical seals and install various types of mechanical seals./liliUnderstand types and functions, installation, lubrication, maintenance, causes of failure, and replacement of sliding surface and roller contact bearings/liliOperate manual mill, lathe, and surface grinder to produce quality part./liliMaintain and troubleshoot, disassemble and reassemble hydraulic and pneumatic valves/liliUnderstand parts, function, maintenance and overhaul of reciprocating and rotary positive displacement pumps, and single and multistage centrifugal pumps/liliUnderstand pipe sizing and materials of construction, characteristics of pipe joints and fittings, and how to calculate pipe length, measure, cut and thread pipe/liliMeasure and analyze vibration in equipment using transducers, vibration meters and vibration analyzers to determine cause of malfunction/liliRead pneumatic system diagrams/li/ulh3Qualification and Skill Requirements:/h3ulliMulti-skilled technician satisfied by demonstrated technical expertise in maintenance functions/lili2 year Associate Degree in a related field or equivalent past work experience/liliStrong customer focus/liliBasic PC skills (MS Windows)/liliMust operate/be trained in the use of Power Industrial Trucks (PIT)./liliContinued technical training required each year/liliBasic project management skills/lili(Elec) Working towards a Class A Journeyman license if in the electrical program/liliMentor/coach/lead other technician/li/ulh3Physical Requirements:/h3ulliSome heavy lifting required to replace motors, pumps, extruder screws, etc., at low frequency. Equipment is provided to move / manipulate heavy components/liliOccasionally squat, crawl, reach above shoulders, kneel and balance/liliRequires repetitive action such as simple staring, grasping, firm grasping, and fine manipulating.
