Work in collaboration with the kitchen team to ensure meals are prepared following dietary guidelines and special requests. Passion for cooking, understanding of food safety, and commitment to a positive, supportive environment are required. Work Type: Full-time. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday and weekends. Shift: 9am-5:30pm and sometimes 5:00am - 1:30pm. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, ensuring food meets quality, taste, and dietary requirements. Assist with meal plating and food presentation, ensuring meals are visually appealing and appetizing. Improve cooking skills through flexibility in assignments. Store leftovers and prep food using proper labeling and within time frames. Inventory food items as assigned. Safety / Sanitation Maintain appropriate records of food temperatures, production, waste, and usage. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, following food safety guidelines (HACCP). Maintain a clean, sanitary work environment throughout shift according to department, hospital, and regulatory agency standards. Communications Communicate to Management all food quality and availability issues, equipment status, customer and staffing issues. Demonstrate accurate, clear, and timely verbal and written communication. Participate in team meetings, providing input on menu suggestions, food quality, and patient feedback. Safety Performance Speak up when team members appear to exhibit unsafe behavior or performance. Continuously validate and verify information needed for decision making or documentation. Stop in the face of uncertainty and take time to resolve the situation. Actively promote safety for patients, families, visitors, and co‑workers. Attend carefully to important details. Any other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, restaurant, or institutional setting is preferred. Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to follow recipes and meal plans accurately. Ability to work well in a team environment. Good communication skills and ability to follow directions.
