Strategic Business Banker & Lending Leader

VP, Business Banker/Lending Key Responsibilities Develop and expand client relationships to generate new deposits, loans, and overall portfolio growth. Identify opportunities to increase revenue through deposits, lending products, and fee-based banking services. Review client account activity to detect cross-selling opportunities and strengthen long-term client relationships. Represent the bank at community, business, and industry events to build brand presence and referral networks. Conduct preliminary credit analysis by evaluating borrowers’ financial condition and risk profile in line with the bank’s credit policies. Gather and assess financial documentation to structure and present credit proposals to management or the Loan Committee. Coordinate the closing and servicing of approved loans, ensuring proper documentation, compliance, and timely disbursements. Monitor the performance and quality of the loan portfolio, addressing any risk concerns or missing documentation. Maintain a holistic view of client relationships, integrating deposits, lending, and treasury management solutions. Ensure timely responses to internal compliance and regulatory requests (BSA, KYC, and related requirements) while collaborating with branch teams and completing required training. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered. Approximately 3–5 years of experience in Business Banking, Commercial Banking, or Private Banking roles. Formal credit training is a plus. Advanced computer proficiency, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at different organizational levels. High level of attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining strong organization and time-management skills. Strong client service mindset with proven ability to identify opportunities to sell and cross-sell banking products while ensuring a positive customer experience. Solid understanding of banking regulations, compliance standards, and branch operational procedures at both the state and federal levels. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to evaluate situations and recommend effective solutions for clients.
