About The Smith

The Smith is an extremely popular casual neighborhood brasserie – in fact, several of our locations are among the Top 100 busiest restaurants in the US! The menu features bistro classics, seasonal fare, and craft cocktails. Our signature lively atmosphere makes The Smith a versatile setting for an after-work bite, drinks on the town, a birthday bash, a working lunch, a bountiful brunch, or an I-don’t-want-to-cook-tonight night.

The Position: General Manager

Our team is seeking a talented General Manager with a strong team orientation, a love of delicious food, and a commitment to excellent service. The GM must be committed to supporting an inclusive, innovative, and collaborative culture. GMs will help drive restaurant operation they get pleasure out of making others happy, managing projects, and actively sharing feedback. This is the perfect role for someone who can work in a fast-paced environment while still managing daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Direct all hiring and training for the front of house team
• Upholding company food safety, food handling, and sanitation requirements to ensure the health and safety of our guests and staff
• Oversee and ensure that all company systems and policies are maintained 
• Work with Operations on executing and forecasting budgets
• Conduct employee evaluations as necessary
• Enforce and maintain all labor laws and practices
• Train values and maintain the integrity of the culture

What Makes You Great

• You have at least 5 years combined in Assistant General Manager and General Manager roles in a high-volume, full-service restaurant
• You understand   that your team's success is your success. Therefore, you have a proven track record of nurturing and developing high-performing teams of at least 3 managers
• You exemplify the highest standards of honesty and integrity
• You are highly confident in your abilities and are detail-oriented
• You are a team player and have excellent communication skills
• You genuinely get joy out of making people happy and can have fun while working
• You have a love and passion for the hospitality industry

The base pay range for this position is a salary range of $115,000 - $135,000 per year. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
