Legal Administrative Specialist (Litigation Support)

Summary For more information on the Department of Justice and the United States Attorneys' Offices, visit Duties This position serves as a Legal Administrative Specialist responsible for providing litigation support in the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. Responsibilities Evaluating electronic files and developing a plan for their handling and management. Extracting data from storage devices and downloading data from transfer sites. Managing complex and voluminous reviews by filter and investigative teams. Tracking and coordinating data processing to comply with discovery and evidence admissibility requirements. Identifying privileged and other protected information for redaction and applying redactions to text and multimedia files. Generating complex electronic discovery productions that comply with production specifications and deadlines. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as training and experience progress. Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or National. Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation. You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable. If selected, you may be required to complete a one-year probationary period. You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement. Qualifications To be eligible for the GS-12, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as processing complex and voluminous electronically stored information and preparing it for review or production by a litigation team; providing advice, customer support services, and project management services in connection with electronic discovery and evidence, litigation support projects, and litigation technology software applications; and providing technical assistance to litigation teams presenting electronic evidence in legal proceedings.
