Academic Tutor Opportunity
Prep Academy Tutors of Northern Los Angeles is seeking dedicated, knowledgeable, and compassionate academic tutors to support students in grades K–12 across a variety of subject areas. Our tutors provide personalized, one-on-one instruction tailored to each student's academic needs, learning style, and goals.
This is an ideal opportunity for certified teachers, subject-matter experts, graduate students, or experienced educators who are passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve measurable academic growth.

Prep Academy Tutors is a premium in-home tutoring company that delivers individualized academic support aligned with school curricula. We specialize in high-quality, customized tutoring services that help students strengthen foundational skills, master advanced content, and prepare for standardized exams.
Our Northern Los Angeles division is committed to supporting families with exceptional, relationship-focused educational services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one academic tutoring in core subjects (Math, English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and/or Foreign Languages)
- Support students with homework, study skills, executive functioning, and test preparation
- Develop individualized learning plans based on student needs and assessment results
- Track student progress and provide regular updates to families
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment
- Travel to students' homes throughout the Northern Los Angeles, California area
Qualifications
- Master's degree or teaching certification
- Strong subject-matter expertise in at least one core academic area
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience (classroom, private tutoring, or small-group instruction)
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Reliable transportation
- Authorized to work in the United States

Requirements
A qualified applicant will have a bachelor's degree and will also meet at least one of the following criteria:
- You hold a valid California teaching certificate or the equivalent thereof
- You are a current student teacher pursuing a teaching certificate
- You have 2 or more years of experience as a classroom teacher in a private, public, or charter school
- You have experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. university or college
- You are a Master's/PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at an accredited U.S. university or college
