Central Sterile Supply Technician

GiaCare Inc. is accepting applications from experienced Central Sterile Supply Technicians for a future opportunity supporting Evans Army Community Hospital at Fort Carson, Colorado.

This position is being recruited in anticipation of contract award. Qualified candidates will be considered for employment upon contract award.

About the Opportunity

Join a dedicated Sterile Processing team supporting surgical and clinical services at Evans Army Community Hospital. In this role, you'll ensure surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, disinfected, sterilized, assembled, and distributed to support safe, high-quality patient care for active duty service members, military retirees, and their families.

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Monday-Friday
• 8 to 10-hour shifts
• Duty hours between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM
• 30 or 60-minute unpaid lunch
• No on-call
• Not to exceed 40 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and medical equipment
• Operate steam sterilizers, low-temperature sterilization systems, and washer-disinfectors
• Perform biological and chemical monitoring of sterilization processes
• Maintain instrument inventory and ensure proper storage of sterile supplies
• Identify damaged instruments and coordinate repair or replacement
• Maintain accurate sterilization documentation and quality assurance records
• Follow infection prevention, OSHA, and Joint Commission standards
• Support operating room and clinical departments with timely instrument processing

Minimum Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen
• Successful completion of a Central Sterile Supply training course
• Minimum one (1) year of Central Sterile Supply Technician experience within the past two (2) years
• Current IAHCSMM (HSPA) or NICHSPD (CBSPD) certification
• Current, full, active, unrestricted certification in good standing

BLS is NOT required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital sterile processing experience
• Experience supporting multiple surgical specialties
• Knowledge of instrument tracking systems
