Phlebotomist/Processor

Interpath Laboratory is looking for a Phlebotomist/Processor to join our Swing Shift team! Newly certified phlebotomists are encouraged to apply, although previous professional phlebotomy experience is preferred. In this role, you'll perform patient blood draws and assist with specimen pickups, including supporting our partnership with Treasure Valley Hospital. Pay: Starting at $19 per hour, with flexibility based on experience Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 1:30pm - 10:30pm Medical, Dental, Vision with In-Network & Custom Network discounts 401(K) with discretionary employer match Paid Time Off Free clinical diagnostic laboratory testing performed in house In this role, you will be responsible for: Administrative duties: Providing excellent customer service to patients and families, answering phones, and monitoring for instrumentation alarms. Technical responsibilities: Performing venipuncture for blood collection, obtaining additional specimen types as required, and preparing all samples for lab testing and screening, with a focus on pediatric patients. Accurate data management: Verifying specimen information, performing data entry, and properly identifying patient information. Specimen handling: Receiving, processing, and packaging samples for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity. Compliance: Following safety protocols, HIPAA policies, Medicare rules, and participating in quality assurance activities. Flexibility: Supporting clinic operations and assisting with coverage as needed to ensure smooth day-to-day workflow. Reliability: Maintaining consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance to ensure continuity of operations and support for our team and patients. Education & Certification: High school diploma or equivalent required Experience: Previous professional phlebotomy experience preferred; newly certified phlebotomists are encouraged to apply Licensing & Testing Requirements Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required, as the position may require assistance with STAT pickups. Must be able to distinguish colors and successfully pass a vision acuity test in compliance with CAP regulations. Must successfully pass a drug screening in accordance with Treasure Valley Hospital requirements. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with pediatric patients and their families Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy Highly organized and capable of managing multiple responsibilities effectively Physical Requirements: Laboratory setting with automated equipment emitting ambient sounds. High level of staff interaction in close quarters; must hear alarms to ensure timely response to safety needs. Regular handling of potentially infectious samples, with required protective gear (lab coat, gloves, goggles, face shield). Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the day. Frequent bending, extended standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Flexibility to work extended hours or overtime as needed. OSHA Category: This role involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues, with Hepatitis-B vaccination offered to all performing these duties.
