Travel Labor & Delivery RN

This is a 13-week contract position.

Days, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM, every other weekend and call required.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care to labor and delivery patients. The nurse will utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. Critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and strong leadership are essential for anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of care. Clinical competencies will be maintained through continuing education.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assist laboring patients
• Communicate with providers and circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections
• Triage patients at 20 weeks and up
• Provide care to antepartum patients requiring care in labor and delivery
• Attend deliveries to support newborn resuscitation
• Recover vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Float between departments in the Women's Pavilion as required

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Labor & Delivery RN
• At least 2 previously completed travel assignments in Labor & Delivery
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications are required
• Experience with CPN and Cerner preferred
• Must be able to pass EKG
