Job Title: Junior Software Developer / Automation Specialist (Healthcare/TPA)

Location: [On-site / Hybrid – Long Island, NY]

Reports to: Head of IT

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically driven developer to support our IT team in building, maintaining, and automating critical business processes within a healthcare/TPA environment. This role will work closely with the Head of IT to develop internal tools, streamline workflows, and support data-driven operations across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain applications using C# and related technologies
• Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database scripts
• Design and manage reports using SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)
• Work within Visual Studio for application development and debugging
• Build and maintain automation workflows using tools such as RoboTask (or similar)
• Manage and troubleshoot SFTP processes for secure data transfers
• Support integration and data exchange across internal and external systems
• Assist in maintaining and improving existing codebases and automation processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Operations, HR) to implement technical solutions
• Document processes, workflows, and system configurations

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in software development or programming
• Proficiency in C# and SQL (T-SQL preferred)
• Experience with Visual Studio and SSRS reporting
• Familiarity with automation tools (RoboTask or similar)
• Experience with SFTP or secure file transfer protocols
• Experience in the healthcare or insurance industry (TPA experience a plus)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Javelina or Mphasis products
• Exposure to process automation and workflow optimization
• Understanding of data reconciliation, reporting, or financial systems
• Experience working in a small team / high-responsibility environment
