As NASA's largest engineering solutions provider working together with NASA at centers across the United States.We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst / Project Coordinator to join the team!The Business Analyst / Project Coordinator will:Serve as the primary analyst between business stakeholders and the technical team, owning requirements from the first conversation through user acceptanceIdentify the underlying business problem behind each request: ask probing questions, challenge assumptions, and separate the stated solution from the actual needLead requirements elicitation through stakeholder interviews, workshops, process observation, and analysis of existing documents and dataProduce complete Business Requirements Documents that include the problem statement, business objectives, current and future-state processes, business rules, exceptions and edge cases, assumptions, and measurable acceptance criteriaTranslate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories that developers can build from without repeated clarificationMap current and future-state processes, and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation or AIMaintain traceability from business need through development and testingPlan and support user acceptance testing (UAT), including writing test scenarios, coordinating testers, and tracking defects to resolutionUse AI tools to speed up analysis, documentation, and process discovery, and validate AI output for accuracy and completenessIn coordination with the IT Section Manager, support project execution for assigned efforts: track tasks, milestones, risks, and dependencies; facilitate status meetings; prepare status updates; and assess the impact of change requestsQualificationsTypically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a related area and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experienceExperience as a Business Analyst on software development projectsStrong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with a track record of uncovering unstated needs and resolving conflicting requirements across stakeholdersProven ability to write detailed BRDs, functional specifications, use cases, and user stories with acceptance criteriaHands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) in business analysis work, such as drafting requirements, summarizing meetings, analyzing processes, or analyzing dataProficiency in process modeling (BPMN, swimlane diagrams, flowcharts) using Visio or similar toolsWorking knowledge of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologiesExperience with Smartsheet for project tracking and reportingExperience supporting project coordination across multiple concurrent effortsStrong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to managementPreferencesCBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA certificationPMP, CAPM, or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certificationExperience in aerospace, government contracting, or NASA/DoD environmentsFamiliarity with the software development lifecycle for.NET/web applicationsFamiliarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, MS Project, or similar toolsBasic SQL skills for data validation and analysisExperience with Power BI or similar reporting toolsExperience identifying and implementing AI or automation use cases within business processesCompensation:Salary starts at $83,700.
