Nurse Practitioner | Cardiology - General/Other Location: McAllen, TX Employer: AAS Locum Tenens Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position An outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Clinic in McAllen, Texas is seeking an experienced Locums Cardiology Nurse Practitioner for an 18-week assignment. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a structured outpatient setting providing comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation care with no hospital rounding, bedside care, invasive procedures, or cath lab responsibilities. Position Highlights Setting: Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Clinic Clinic located in a Medical Office Building adjacent to the hospital Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM One-hour lunch break Last scheduled patient at 4:30 PM No weekends, call, or hospital responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities Evaluate and manage patients participating in outpatient cardiac rehabilitation Conduct new patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as appropriate Provide education on heart-healthy lifestyle modifications, medications, exercise, and risk-factor management Collaborate with cardiologists, rehabilitation staff, nurses, and ancillary team members to optimize patient outcomes Document patient encounters accurately using the electronic medical record Patient Volume Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday: Approximately 16 follow-up patients per day Tuesday and Friday: Approximately 2–4 new patient evaluations Qualifications Board Certified Nurse Practitioner Previous Cardiac Rehabilitation experience required Experience practicing in an outpatient cardiology setting Active Texas Nurse Practitioner license Current DEA registration, if applicable Strong communication and patient education skills Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is highly preferred EMR: ScottCare VersaCare Softwareaa415a4b-8b21-40fc-a65c-70d2b25ca29a
