Opportunity: Nurse Practitioner - Neurosurgery

Job Details:

• 26-week contract with options to extend and locums to perm available
• Full-time position working Monday through Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
• Patient census varies from 8 to 20 patients per day depending on facility volume and incoming transfers
• Adult patient population
• Provider will work both inpatient and outpatient settings within neurosurgery care
• Outpatient responsibilities include managing post-operative patients, case management, and ordering imaging and scans
• Inpatient responsibilities include managing brain tumor patients, neuro ICU, and meningioma cases
• Facility receives high acuity transfer patients from other facilities
• Special procedures include pulling drains; training on pulling EVD drains available but not required
• EMR system: Epic
• NP board certification required: ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, or ACNPC
• PA applicants must have a master's degree in physician assistant studies
• Active California license required
• California DEA with Schedule 2/2N required
• BLS certification required (must be AHA)
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in neurosurgery or complex surgical floors required
• Providers with neuro ICU experience may also be considered
