Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU

Registered Nurse – Medical ICU

12-hour D/N rotating contract; may include days, nights, or a combination; assignments reviewed every 4-week period.

Daily census ~23; variable weekend shifts based on unit needs; orientation period of 72 hours; pre-approved time off of two shifts.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
• Current acute care experience in the ICU specialty within the last 12 months.
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers are not eligible.
• References: 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be a manager/director or formal supervisor.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Key clinical skills: Ventilator management, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, suctioning, arterial line and central line care, invasive monitoring, CRRT management, care of ventilated patients, titration of vasoactive/cardiac drips, dysrhythmia recognition, IV starts/PICC/port management, blood product administration, ABG interpretation, infection precautions, and procedural sedation monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adult and geriatric critically ill patients.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and vital signs.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies as per protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated patient care.
• Support patients and families through critical care experiences.

Compliance / Notes

Strict credentialing deadline is Tuesday prior to start; Ohio fingerprinting is urgent for out-of-state candidates. RNs must have a valid compact or state license at the time of submission. Flu vaccine is required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine is not required.
