Clinical Research Coordinator I - Anesthesiology

Position Summary The Translational Research to Advance Pain Science (TRAPS) laboratory is focused on improving chronic pain outcomes through lifestyle‑based and behavioral interventions. Our work integrates sleep, physical activity, diet, and mindfulness to better understand how everyday behaviors shape pain, function, and quality of life. Drawing on clinical trials and large‑scale health data, the TRAPS laboratory aims to develop practical, scalable approaches to pain management that move beyond just medications and procedures. For interested individuals, there are opportunities to engage in all aspects of Dr. Goodin’s research studies including consent, biospecimen acquisition and processing, database management, and regulatory matters. Scheduled Hours: 40 Primary Duties & Responsibilities Implements and manages all phases of study/protocol; ensures compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies; establishes record‑keeping systems; performs assessments and determines participant progress; analyzes, investigates and reports adverse events; decides when to notify physicians, stop participant inclusion, or adjust protocols; resolves protocol‑management issues; serves as liaison with funding or sponsoring agency. Recruits and enrolls study participants; determines eligibility based on diagnostic criteria and participant interviews; develops informed‑consent packets; explains diagnostic procedures and treatment plans; administers or scores tests and evaluates all lab and clinical assessments to ensure timely completion. Ensures timely completion of all protocol requirements (assessment, lab testing, procedures, and treatments); schedules and facilitates patient completion; evaluates and interprets collected clinical data; prepares oral or written presentations and reports, analyzing progress trends and providing recommendations. Collects clinical data under clinical research protocols. Performs other duties as assigned. Working Conditions Patient care setting. Education & Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and experience may substitute for the minimum education. Preferred: No additional education unless stated elsewhere in the job posting. Certifications / Professional Licenses Basic Life Support – American Heart Association, Basic Life Support – American Red Cross Work Experience No specific work experience is required for this position. Skills Clinical Research, Clinical Study Protocols, Communication, Computer Systems, Interpersonal Communication, Organizing, Research Support Driver’s License A driver’s license is not required for this position.
