Work Environment

The Physician Assistant will work on-site in the Surgical Center, a facility designed to support outpatient and inpatient procedures. Regular work hours are scheduled from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical evaluations and obtain detailed medical histories of patients, identifying both physical and mental health concerns.
• Order, collect, interpret, and assess laboratory and diagnostic tests to identify patient issues and inform care plans.
• Develop and implement comprehensive, outcomes-based treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Prescribe medications, recommend therapeutic interventions, and perform procedures within established protocols to ensure patient safety and effective treatment.
• Provide counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, medications, and preventive health measures.
• Maintain thorough and accurate records of patient treatment plans and outcomes, facilitating ongoing communication with healthcare teams.
• Perform invasive procedures specific to your competencies and training as delegated by supervising physicians.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain clinical knowledge and skills.
• Manage patient care in various settings beyond primary care, including emergency and procedural contexts.
• Address immediate healthcare needs as required, potentially outside of regular working hours to meet departmental coverage needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physician Assistant in our Surgical Center, you will primarily focus on patients undergoing surgical procedures. This diverse patient population may include individuals with varying healthcare needs, ranging from pre-operative assessments to post-operative follow-up care. Your role is critical in ensuring that patients receive high-quality, compassionate care tailored to their unique circumstances and health histories.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field.
• A licensed and certified PA with a minimum of one year of clinical experience.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) with the ability to practice in Florida.
• Experience with surgical procedures and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.

Preferred Experience

• Expertise in cardiology or surgical specialties will be considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive yearly salary range of USD 140,000 to 180,000, commensurate with experience.
