Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical and mental assessments of patients, utilizing comprehensive problem-focused examinations and detailed medical histories to ensure accurate diagnoses.
• Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, including laboratory results, to determine patient needs and track health progress.
• Formulate and implement comprehensive treatment plans based on evidence-based medicine while collaborating with multidisciplinary team members.
• Prescribe medications and execute therapeutic procedures, adhering to established protocols that prioritize patient safety and efficacy.
• Engage in patient and family counseling to enhance understanding of medical conditions, treatment options, and health promotion strategies.
• Maintain detailed and accurate medical records of patient encounters, interventions, and outcomes to uphold continuity of care.
• Facilitate timely consultations and referrals to specialists when necessary for complex health issues exceeding your practice scope.
• Manage acute patient cases in various healthcare settings, including inpatient care and emergency services, as required.
• Perform specialized procedures as delegated by supervising physicians, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulations.
• Be prepared to assist with patient care needs beyond standard hours when the department requires additional coverage.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The role focuses on a diverse population of patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases. You will work with individuals of all ages, addressing a range of conditions from preventative care to urgent cardiac interventions. Your ability to engage and communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds will be essential in guiding their care journeys.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant studies or a related field.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably within cardiology or a similar specialty.
• Current certification and active licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Florida.
• Delegated prescriptive authority and knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing protocols.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in cardiology or related surgical environments is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems, including clinical documentation and workflow management.
• Advanced skills in patient education and counseling techniques.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 140,000 to 180,000, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
