Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of pediatric patients, performing both complete and focused physical examinations to gauge health and identify any acute or chronic conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans by ordering, conducting, and interpreting diagnostic tests while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Deliver patient- and family-centered care that includes counseling, education, and recommendations for preventive health strategies tailored to individual health needs.
• Refer patients to other healthcare professionals for specialized services as needed, which may include consultations with medical subspecialists or referrals for physical therapy, nutritional counseling, and developmental assessments.
• Engage in creating management plans for children who require in-school support and regularly communicate with families and educational professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide guidance on dietary choices, exercise regimens, and overall health promotion, maintaining compliance with the scope of the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) practice.
• Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices in pediatric care.
