Staff Attorney

Law Firm located in New Jersey is seeking a Temporary/Contract Insurance Coverage Attorney. Client is seeking a temporary or contract attorney to assist with pre-suit insurance coverage analysis. The ideal candidate will have experience handling insurance coverage matters on behalf of carriers. The candidate must be able to independently review claims, analyze policy language and prepare written coverage opinions. Experience interpreting commercial general liability (CGL), comprehensive general liability and umbrella liability policies is required. The work will focus primarily on construction accident claims involving bodily injury. The candidate will analyze risk-transfer issues, contractual indemnification obligations and additional insured coverage. This will include determining whether a general contractor may transfer liability to a subcontractor and whether a tender should be made to the subcontractor’s insurer. Candidates should be familiar with New York and New Jersey insurance coverage law and comfortable evaluating underlying claims, contracts, tenders and policy provisions. Strong analytical and legal writing skills are essential. Admission to the bar is not required. A former insurance adjuster with a J.D. and substantial carrier-side coverage experience may also be considered. #J-18808-Ljbffr
