Accounting Manager

Chesapeake Search Partners is exclusively partnering with a growing, family-owned and operated organization to identify an Accounting Manager to join their team. This is a hands-on role focused on day-to-day accounting operations, accurate financial reporting, and supporting both finance and operations. Overview Responsibilities Manage daily accounting activity including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations Oversee month-end close and assist with preparing monthly financial statements Maintain balance sheet schedules and ensure general ledger accuracy Review and reconcile cash activity, bank statements, and merchant deposits Support AP and AR as needed, including invoice review, payments, and cash application Ensure timely and accurate multi-state sales tax filings Partner with operations to resolve coding questions and reconcile unit-level transactions Assist with variance analysis, budgeting, and audit documentation Maintain internal controls, update procedures, and identify process improvements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5 to 8+ years of hands-on accounting experience including general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close Strong knowledge of journal entries, sales tax, and cash/merchant reconciliations Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large or complex datasets Ability to explain accounting concepts to non-finance teams Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage a steady flow of daily tasks #J-18808-Ljbffr Chesapeake Search Partners
