Snapshot / Role Overview
We're looking for an Assistant Project Manager in the Phoenix area to run small commercial HVAC retrofit and construction projects end to end while backing up senior project managers on larger work.
Impact
- Run small projects on your own so senior PMs stay on major construction.
- Keep submittals, RFIs, and change orders moving so crews never wait on paper.
- Hold designers, subcontractors, and vendors to their dates and scope.
- Protect margin through disciplined procurement and clean change order capture.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain schedules in Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent.
- Create, log, and track submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Coordinate designers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Partner with Quality Control on required QC documentation.
- Coordinate purchasing of equipment, materials, and services, and maintain inventory control.
- Review design submittals for compliance with contract documents.
- Support senior PMs on larger retrofit and construction projects.
Must-Haves
- Project engineering or assistant PM experience in commercial HVAC.
- Scheduling software skills such as Microsoft Project or P6.
- Strong document control habits.
Nice-to-Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
- Retrofit and tenant improvement background.
Compensation and Logistics
