Manufacturing Engineer

Job TitleESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFeasibility study, estimate, quote, evaluate, specify and purchase capital equipment and tooling for new programs or modifications to existing programs to budget.Interact and direct vendors to provide equipment and tooling to our standards and performance expectations.Launch equipment and tooling to production floor and support on-going production throughout program cycle.Ability to develop time lines and maintain through follow upAbility to troubleshoot through root cause analysis and provide technical support for daily plant operations.Develop and maintain process documentation and assist with quality documentation.Understand and perform tolerance stack ups. Solid understanding of GD &T and datum scheme.Investigate and Implement cost reductions through process improvements.Record lessons learned and revise system documentation to reduce reoccurrence.Responsible for producing CAD drawings when required.Maintains plant layout for efficient product flow within equipmentMaintain and organize drawing database – CAD and hard copies.Works directly with skilled trades, program managers and quality engineers.Manage and execute actions from ECN/ECR system.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Very strong hands on candidate with 2 + years of applicable experienceExperience in high volume steel processing/manufacturing a plusPrevious experience in the automotive field a plusAbility to solve problems through logic and removing road blocksIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft office productsKnowledge of Solid Works CAD system a plusLANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents and statures from jurisdictional agencies and governmental units, procedure manuals, and specification manuals. Ability to write instructions, plant operating procedures, and routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, regulatory agencies, and employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
