Accounting Manager

A growing, privately held organization in the Denver area is seeking an Accounting Manager to play a key role in supporting its corporate accounting and financial reporting functions. This position will have meaningful ownership over the month-end close, financial statements, and core accounting operations, while partnering closely with Finance leadership and internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy, consistency, and scalable processes. Responsibilities Own and review the month-end close process, including journal entries, reclasses, reconciliations, variance analysis, and supplemental schedules Review and analyze financial statements with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency Present financial results to Finance leadership and support reporting to senior management Oversee accounts receivable management and support cash flow reporting Review annual operating expense budgets across corporate departments Oversee treasury management and banking relationships Assist with audit and tax requests, including preparation of schedules and support documentation Review payroll for 120+ employees and assist with internal reporting needs Manage, coach, and develop members of the accounting team across AP, AR, GL, and reconciliations Support onboarding, training, and ongoing development of accounting staff Identify opportunities for process improvement, stronger controls, and increased efficiency Coordinate hybrid schedules, flex time, and responsible time off to ensure adequate coverage Qualifications 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Strong understanding of GAAP and corporate accounting principles Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation Prior experience mentoring or informally leading others is a plus, but not required Comfort operating in an evolving environment with some ambiguity Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently Excellent communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally What We’re Looking For A proactive, ownership-driven accounting professional who enjoys digging into the details while also thinking about the bigger picture.
