Building Secretary

General Description of Position: The Building Secretary plays a crucial role in supporting the administrative functions of the school. This position requires a blend of technical skills, strong communication abilities, and a keen attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma
  • Proficiency in data entry and Microsoft Office software
  • Pleasant personality and good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills
  • Working knowledge of basic office procedures and common office equipment
  • Ability to quickly learn new software products

Reports To: Building Principal/Assistant Principal

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Performs data entry and data processing
  • Tracks and balances student activity accounts
  • Monitors purchase orders and manages payment approvals
  • Deposits money collected daily
  • Maintains demographic data and coordinates mailings
  • Updates the building website
  • Serves as receptionist
  • Maintains building files and records
  • Makes parental contacts and other correspondence
  • Assists with Health Services and substitute teacher arrangements
  • Submits records to the Administration Office
  • Sorts and distributes incoming mail
  • Assists in scheduling Parent/Teacher Conference appointments
  • Assists in student registration
  • Maintains teacher attendance registers
  • Collects fees and sends letters to parents
  • Supervises students in the office area
  • Demonstrates cooperation and good public relations
  • Attends work regularly and maintains confidentiality

Terms of Employment: Nine month contract and as needed in the summer

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated annually

Compensation: Based on the Plano CUSD 88 Collective Bargaining Agreement
