Work Environment

This position requires onsite work within a hospital facility in Norfolk, Virginia, where you will engage with a diverse range of patients in various stages of recovery. The hospital provides robust resources, including state-of-the-art equipment and collaborative team dynamics, promoting an efficient and supportive atmosphere. Your schedule will typically run Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility necessary to accommodate patient needs and clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct physical therapy services as directed by the supervising physical therapist, adhering strictly to individual patient care plans.
• Assist patients in pain relief strategies and the development or restoration of functional mobility and strength.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, ensuring proper execution of active and passive techniques, muscle reeducation, and functional training.
• Facilitate the use of physical agents such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation to enhance treatment effectiveness.
• Monitor and document the patient's response to treatment, reporting any significant changes to the physical therapist and the clinical team.
• Educate patients on the appropriate use and care of assistive devices including crutches, canes, and wheelchairs to support their rehabilitation efforts.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and records to ensure comprehensive patient history and treatment tracking.
• Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement programs to enhance the overall quality of care.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervising therapist or organization leadership.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid driver's license and an insured vehicle in good working order to facilitate travel as needed.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 60,000 to 80,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
