Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nutritional care to patients identified with nutritional risk, including initial assessment and ongoing reassessment.
- Develop, implement, and adjust medical nutrition therapy plans; monitor intake and response; document interventions per policy.
- Educate patients and families on nutrition, disease management, and diet plans; support discharge planning with nutrition recommendations.
- Communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team; participate in care planning and discharge coordination.
- Serve as a clinical resource and precept/mentor dietetic interns and staff; orient new personnel to unit duties and clinical activities.
- Ensure documentation quality and compliance with professional standards and facility policies; maintain safe, evidence-based nutrition care throughout the patient’s stay.

Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: Registered Dietitian (RD) within 6 months of completion of residency program; eligible to practice in or obtain licensure for the state of assignment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition or equivalent (Master’s degree required if eligibility for examination began on or after 01/01/2024); Dietetic internship or equivalent required.
- Experience: At least two years of recent clinical dietetics experience; 3–5 years preferred.
- Certifications: Current BLS certification.
- Additional: Ability to perform in a hospital setting; pass credentialing requirements; maintain professional standards of care.
