Own the cut. Own the result.
Imagine stepping up to a custom VMC with a rotary head, loading a single workpiece of tool steel—or maybe Inconel—and shaping a precise helix by coordinating X, Y, Z, and A. That part will become an injection molding or extrusion screw for plastic manufacturing equipment. Parts vary dramatically: from 1" OD x 20" long up to 10" OD x 25' long.
Your mission- Take full responsibility for each job—setup, machining, program edits, deburring, and self‑inspection.
- Translate prints and detailed instructions into reliable, repeatable outcomes.
- Adjust paths, tweak offsets, and confidently restart mid‑program when conditions demand it.
- Thrive in a prototype‑first environment where most work is one‑off; production runs rarely exceed five.
When needed, you will also run conventional knee mills, horizontal boring mills, and lathes to support the work.
What proves you’re ready- Strong command of G‑Code and M‑Code
- Expertise in CNC setup and changeovers
- Well‑rounded manual machining abilities
- 3–4 axis VMCs with rotary capability running Fanuc and Haas controls
This is a hands‑on, interactive machining role—not a start‑to‑finish, push‑button shop. If solving problems at the spindle energizes you, you’ll fit right in.
