About the Role

At Fenner Precision Polymers, you’ll turn accurate picks into delighted customers. In this hands-on shipping role, you’ll combine speed, precision, and safety to prepare outbound orders—every time.

Schedule: Monday – Thursday; 6:00am – 4:30pm

You start by syncing your wireless tablet, pulling your pick list, and staging materials. You’ll hop on a tow motor, reach truck, or order picker to retrieve product, verify accuracy, and resolve discrepancies before anything leaves the dock. You’ll operate and replenish packaging machines, print SDS labels, and pack to Fenner standards or exact customer specifications. Pallets are secured for Less Than Loaded (LTL) shipments, kitted orders are assembled, and small parcels are processed through the system. Using shipping software, you’ll ship—or void when needed—and close out orders with care. Throughout the day you keep your area neat, follow lifting techniques, communicate clearly with teammates, and adjust to changing priorities to keep internal and external customers satisfied.

• Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting; wear required PPE.
• Report safety incidents and/or moving violations promptly.
• Locate and print safety data sheet (SDS) labels.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area; keep equipment in proper working order.
• Operate and replenish packaging equipment/machines.
• Use tablets and scanners to pick orders accurately and efficiently.
• Pack to standards/customer specs; assemble kits for shipment.
• Secure pallets for Less Than Loaded (LTL) shipments.
• Process shipments and perform voids in shipping software.
• Assist with cycle counts to meet inventory accuracy goals.
• Operate material handling equipment: tow motor, pallet jack, powered walkie, shrink wrapper, banding tools, dock plates, etc.
• Maintain strong attendance and clear, courteous communication.
• Adapt your schedule as priorities shift.

Shipping Specialist I

• Execute all general responsibilities above.
• Verify picked orders and resolve discrepancies before shipment.
• Print, pull, pack, and ship orders; process standard small parcels.
• Create and complete cycle counts.
• Operate company tow motor/reach truck/order picker safely—seat belt on, daily checks completed.
• Participate in Kaizen events and 5S initiatives.

Shipping Specialist II

• Perform all General and Level I tasks.
• Advance continuous improvement and waste-reduction efforts.
• Process LTL shipments: generate BOLs, schedule pickups, and close out orders.
• Properly pack and process Hazmat shipments.

Shipping Specialist III

• Perform all General, Level I, and Level II tasks.
• Process export orders in alignment with compliance regulations.
• Train Shipping Specialists I and II.
• Process ASNs as required.
• Provide coverage for the Shipping Coordinator when needed.

Career Progression: There are 3 levels of shipping specialists to advance through, with expectations outlined above.

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months of related experience/training ; or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• For more advanced levels: 2–3 years of related experience/training ; and for senior level: 3–5 years of related experience/training.
• Certificates/Licenses: None required.

• Learn and follow EHS policies, rules, and work instructions; attend required EHS training.
• Always wear the required PPE.
• Take personal responsibility for safety—participate in risk assessments, inspections, corrective actions, and safety observations.
• Report incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions/acts, and other hazards. STOP WORK when imminent danger is present.
• Keep the work area orderly and equipment in good condition.
