Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Incident Manager Data Engineering to manage and coordinate the resolution of production incidents affecting data platforms, pipelines, analytics, and reporting systems. The Incident Manager will ensure minimal business disruption through effective incident coordination, timely stakeholder communication, root cause analysis, service restoration, and continuous improvement of platform reliability and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate major incidents impacting data platforms, data pipelines, analytics, and reporting systems.

• Act as the primary point of contact during Sev-1 and Sev-2 incidents .

• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between Data Engineering, Business Towers, Application Support, Infrastructure, and other technology teams.

• Drive rapid incident triage, escalation, troubleshooting, and service restoration.

• Communicate incident status, business impact, progress, and resolution updates to stakeholders and senior leadership.

• Conduct post-incident reviews and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) .

• Track and ensure timely completion of corrective and preventive actions.

• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve incident management processes, runbooks, and playbooks.

• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to enhance platform reliability, availability, and resilience.

• Ensure incidents are properly documented, tracked, and closed in accordance with established IT service management processes.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of overall IT experience with strong Incident Management experience.

• Proven experience managing major incidents in Data Engineering or enterprise data environments .

• Strong knowledge of ITIL incident and problem management processes.

• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow and JIRA .

• Experience managing Sev-1 and Sev-2 production incidents .

• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

• Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and decision-making abilities.

• Experience working with cross-functional technology and business teams.

• Strong understanding of production support, incident escalation, RCA, and continuous improvement practices.

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale data platforms, pipelines, analytics, and reporting environments.

• Experience developing incident management runbooks and playbooks .

• Exposure to automation and reliability improvement initiatives.

• Experience working in large, complex, enterprise environments.
