THE OPPORTUNITY

Title:  New Business Specialist I (Bilingual)

Job Type : Full-time Non-exempt

Reports to : Underwriting Manager

Location : Austin, TX (Corporate Headquarters located in the Domain)

Summary: This is an administrative position that requires high attention to detail with work in a production environment requiring entry of at least 50 applications per day with minimal errors (3% or less). The New Business Specialist I is expected to be cross trained in all aspects of New Business that relate to application entry, requesting/receiving underwriting requirements, management of departmental email in box, phone calls, and policy build. The majority of all communication is done in Spanish.

WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO

1. Application Processing:

· Key, review, and prepare New Business applications

· Process 50 or more applications per day with a 3% or less error rate

· Perform daily building and mailing of all policies issued in prior daily cycle

2.  Attendance and Reliability:

· Maintain an excellent attendance record

3.  Email and Communication Management:

· Manage departmental email inbox

· Communicate additional underwriting requirements to Independent Consultants (both written and verbal)

4. Collaboration:

· Work closely with Underwriters, other specialists, and Marketing Team

5. Process Improvement:

· Review internal processes, procedures, and policies to provide recommendations for improvement

6. Professional Development:

· Continue education in insurance professionalism

7. Performance Measurement:

· Measure and report the Key Performance Indicators relevant to this position

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• High School diploma or equivalent
• One year of experience in a high-volume data processing role
• Bilingual in Spanish and the ability to communicate in English/Spanish (both written and verbal) in a polished, precise but friendly manner.
• Skill in high volume data processing with minimal errors
• Ability to work in multiple systems and applications.
• Ability to establish rapport and build relationships in a professional manner.
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate and escalate issues to management.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment shaped by constant change and innovation.
• Proficient with SharePoint and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
