Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift
Location: New York, NY
Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule: Operating in a seven on seven off schedule - Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) or Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team in a small community hospital. You will be responsible for managing patients with respiratory diseases, providing non-invasive ventilation, high flow oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and performing ABG draws and analysis. You will also be involved in chest physiotherapy to enhance patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to patients in critical condition.
- Manage the use of Phillips V60 Bipap and Teleflex High Flow Nasal Cannulas.
- Perform aerosol therapy and pulmonary hygiene interventions.
- Interpret arterial blood gas results.
- Evaluate and monitor patients' respiratory conditions.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to stabilize invasive ventilation cases for transfer when necessary.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current State License (NY) in hand to submit.
- ACLS, BLS, CRT certifications required.
- Minimum of 1 year of respiratory therapy experience.
- Experience with EPIC charting system is mandatory.
- Ability to float to other units as required.
