Patient Access Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist for a healthcare services opportunity in Orlando, FL. This role supports patients by helping them access diagnostic and specialty testing services through accurate insurance verification, prior authorization coordination, and timely case follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

- Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage for diagnostic and specialty testing services.
- Obtain prior authorizations and work through insurance coverage issues to support timely patient access.
- Communicate with insurance companies by phone and through online payer portals.
- Track open cases, monitor pending items, and follow up until issues are resolved.
- Maintain accurate documentation in internal systems while following established procedures.
- Respond to questions and escalations professionally while meeting productivity and quality expectations.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $18 per hour.
- Location: Southpark Circle, Orlando, FL 32819.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Training: 6 to 8 weeks, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Work arrangement: 100% onsite for the first 120 days.
- Employment type: Temp-to-hire, with potential permanent placement after 120 days based on performance, reliability, and proficiency.
- Start date: November 2, 2026.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for healthcare services.
- Coordinate prior authorizations and resolve insurance-related coverage issues.
- Manage open cases, follow up with payers, and document case activity accurately.
- Communicate professionally with insurance companies, internal teams, and escalated contacts.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 to 5 years of related experience preferred for this Patient Access Specialist role.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while navigating different computer systems.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, accuracy-focused, performance-driven environment.
- Dependable, proactive approach to learning, problem-solving, and meeting daily goals.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in healthcare revenue cycle, insurance verification, prior authorization, medical billing, claims processing, collections, or healthcare customer service.
- Experience in a high-volume administrative or call center environment.
- Familiarity with laboratory, oncology, diagnostic testing, or specialty testing workflows.
- Experience using insurance payer portals, healthcare documentation systems, or related administrative platforms.
