Maintenance Technician

Job Full Description

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our property management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the overall condition, safety, and appearance of the apartment community while providing excellent service to residents. This position requires strong troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to complete maintenance tasks efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs in apartments, common areas, and property grounds
• Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests and work orders
• Prepare vacant units for new residents, including inspections, repairs, painting, and cleaning coordination
• Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment
• Maintain community grounds, amenities, and curb appeal
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company policies and safety standards
• Assist with emergency maintenance situations and participate in an on-call rotation as required
• Keep accurate records of completed work orders and maintenance activities
• Communicate professionally with residents, vendors, and management staff

Qualifications

• Previous apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or related experience preferred
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and carpentry repairs
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
