Within the USO, our administrative operations are primarily housed in the Trinity Washington Building located in downtown Atlanta. Our Information Technology Services (ITS) division is located in Athens. The University System of Georgia Shared Services Center (SSC) is located in Sandersville. The Georgia Public Library System is located in Atlanta. The Georgia Archives is located in Morrow. The State of Georgia Records Center is located in Austell. Location Shared Services Center (SSC) - 1005 George J Lyons Pkwy Sandersville, GA 31082 Job Summary The SSC Compliance & Accounting Analyst supports centralized compliance, accounting, and reconciliation operations for the University System of Georgia Shared Services Center (SSC). Reporting to the Senior Compliance & Accounting Analyst, this position assists with reconciliation analysis, compliance monitoring, audit support, documentation, and issue resolution to help ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable laws, policies, regulations, and internal controls. This role collaborates with SSC staff, institutional partners, ITS representatives, consultants, and vendors to support reconciliation activities, process improvements, operational efficiencies, and audit readiness. Complex issues, trends, and compliance concerns are escalated to the Senior Compliance & Accounting Analyst for guidance and resolution. Responsibilities

- Assists with centralized compliance, accounting, and reconciliation activities for SSC stakeholders and USG institutions.
- Performs reconciliation analysis, discrepancy research, transaction review, and supporting documentation activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monitors compliance with applicable federal and state laws, BOR policies, USG regulations, and internal procedures.
- Researches reconciliation variances, operational issues, and data discrepancies and escalates complex matters as appropriate.
- Maintains audit-ready documentation, records, procedures, and reconciliation support files.
- Supports audit requests through documentation gathering, reconciliation research, and issue resolution assistance.
- Assists with identifying process improvement opportunities related to operational efficiency, customer service, data integrity, and reconciliation accuracy.
- Supports development and maintenance of procedures, job aids, training materials, and process documentation.
- Utilizes reporting and data analysis tools to identify trends, discrepancies, and exceptions.
- Collaborates with SSC staff, institutional partners, ITS representatives, consultants, and vendors to support reconciliation and compliance-related initiatives.
- Participates in cross-functional projects and operational enhancement initiatives.
- Develops concise communications and provides support to stakeholders under the direction of the Senior Compliance & Accounting Analyst.
- Maintains confidentiality and appropriately handles sensitive information.
- Day and overnight travel from headquarters may be required.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
- Must have a valid GA Driver's License.
- Light physical exertion may be required.
- Ability to work productively in an open-space environment with moderate noise levels.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliation processes, compliance practices, and internal controls.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and support operational and process improvements.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical staff, institutional partners, and SSC stakeholders in a professional, customer-focused environment.
- Proficiency with data analysis applications and reporting tools.
- Ability to appropriately manage confidential and sensitive information.
- Higher education experience preferred.
